I could never understand people elevating a machine to some mythical status but I guess I've been around a lot of expensive machinery so may be somewhat jaded ;)!
Chris: I can understand the loss increasing to a point but would imagine there has to be a point where the part either stops deflecting or breaks I just can't "get" that the loss is a universal % at all power levels. ;)

My old 3" System tested at 97db and was loud enough that at 8000rpm birds fell dead from the sky bricks in walls shattered and small children bled from the ears!
Again fun for 5 minutes but it was a defect waiting to happen!

(Like yeah working on a 15+ year old $5000 Mk3 toyota is nowhere near as prestigious as working on 2 x $250.000 race cars with a $750.000 annual budget)
