Yeah, my stocker and the 'core' I purchased went all the way through. The wastegate had the usual cracks, not worried about those as much as the grand canyon on the short side radius(I guess you would call it that). All is well, I got it back from the shop so no worries, although gaskets are...
Ohh yeah, I contacted the seller of the 'would be' core, he is going to take care of it for me, although im still out 30 dollars of getting the turbo shipped to me and 20 for shipping it back, so Ive spent 150 bucks and Im only getting 100 back.... Fedex > my wallet. I am glad he is taking care...
Your right on the money, but I like the fact of dealing with locals, if their is a problem, they will fix it, or I throw it through their 9 second DSM. A good friend of mine actually has a DSM and he had hard pipes made and they forgot to check the pipes for "foreign objects", the tech test...
Unfortunately, I am dealing with a local rebuilder(Forced Performance). Although they specialize in DSM's, I like their work and its someone I can really trust, and If I ever have a problem, I can drive 10 minutes and yell at someone in person.(j/k)
Thanks for all of the replies guys, I think I will pursue the seller. It was kinda of funny that the box is covered in majestic turbo packing tape.... I think the seller knew that the crack was present and just tried to pass his problem to someone else. Lessons learned, #1. I am an idiot, #2...
dave, unfortunately, if anybody wanted peice of mind, a 20 year old sports car w/ 170k miles would be out of the question. This car is my toy<pun intended>. My rebuilder would love to give me a 1 year warranty, if I can find him a good housing. Any one else think I should persue the seller?
Two weeks back, I posted I had a cracked turbine housing on my stock ct. My turbo guy didnt want to build it, now I bought a turbo recently on ebay as a 'rebuildable core', come to find out, its cracked too, in the exact same spot my old one is... Im running out of ideas but my step father...
I remember someone in oklahoma rebuilding ct's a while back but I dont have a shop number or a name of the shop for that matter, i think he was on this board, guys, I really need to source a housing so I can get my turbo guy paid. :1zhelp:
Well, I took my stock ct26 to forced performance here in Mckinney, Tx(about 50 miles north of Dallas) and the guy tore down the turbo right in front of me which was pretty cool, everything was gravy even after I told him the wastegate part of the housing was trying to crack and he offered to...
thanks guys, sounds like im yanking that bad boy out, does anyone have any qualms with turning the 7m crank??? If the crank isnt gouged, im just going to get some clevites, arp rod bolts and call the bottom end done, i dont even want to do a ring job cause the compression is just too darn good...
The cap wasnt milky a week ago FOR SURE. NO smoke. Not every week, more like every morning, probably 1/2 a gallon or less, I have checked for leaks, I raced the car up and down the road to get it nice and hot and got a nice fresh piece of cardboard out and not one drop<except for overflow bottle...
Hello everyone, I bought my supra last year and the second day I had it I registered here and have learned alot, thanks guys. The past month I have had to top off the radiator and I automatically assumed BHG, no signs of water in oil or vise versa, runs like a top. Overflow bottle was...
So I joined this forum because this guy is an idiot, ohh well, here is the link of the blabbing idiot, you might get some laughs.
