pop the cover up and lossen the nut (or remove it all the way) and you'll be able to pop it lose. The spring tension may keep it on there though, so pop the wiper up if you're having issues.
if you forget to put the washers in (or the damn things move), you can pull the stud out and then drop the stud back in
