Probably doesn't want others to snipe him.
If this is for a MkI then you might want to zip over to CelicaSupra.com and ask them. The MkI brain trust is all over there.
Don't know where you got that impression. I've actually had my eye on a different set of rims from the same manuf from way back in 1997 - they don't even make those any more. When I saw these I fell in love.
I'm gonna keep these a bit of a mystery for a while. Don't want 20 other Supras...
In my opinion the new Vette is unfinished. Having the headlights exposed at all times really kills the sleek, clean lines of the car - for me. I love to be able to put the headlights down and all you get is the fogs.
Here ya go. This was what was waiting for me when I got home tonight. Wife says I have to put them in the garage though. How can you put something this sexy out in the cold? :)
I haven't even seen them yet. Got the call from my wife that they were delivered. Still have to get the rubbers for them though.
I have never seen these rims on a Supra - or any other car on the road actually. They have been out for a while and I know someone has them somewhere.
I'll...
Fatman - Do some research on those headlights. I think you will find that the cost on those will be higher than going out and getting the Hella lenses. The Hella lenses also do not have the funky angled outer glass that you will have to figure out how to fix - making the whole job easier.
Can you let us in on your secret to improving the factory gas mileage by 5mpg? I would KILL to get 28mpg in my Supra. I could improve things by 1mpg if I went with the automagic.
Published highway mpg is 22/23 (5sp/auto) for the turbo and 23 for the NAs.
There are so many factors that...
Thanks MassSupra89 for that reminder.
If you are going to do something like this make sure you use lights designed to be used as headlights and NOT auxiliary lights.
WOW! 2 - 3 miles/gallon? Somehow I seriously doubt that.
When I make the drive to Vegas each fall I don't notice any difference in mpg from daytime to nighttime driving. This is constant highway driving so there are very few variables in that equation.
I also used http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html to see how far off my speedo will be with the new combination.
My new setup will be 0.7% off (doing 60.4mph when the speedo shows 60mph).
Look up "wheel offset calculator". This was a handy tool in trying to figure out if the new rims I'm picking up will fit or not. What I found was that my new rims (8.5" wide in the front) will actually fit better than the MkIV TT rims.
WOW! What an amazing turnout! I counted darned close to 40 Supras that made the journey out to the middle of nowhere (between Portland and Seattle) today. Supras came from as far away as Eugene Oregon, BC, and Eastern Washington.
I arrived at the Portland caravan meeting point a bit...
There is a big event in the NW - the PacNW Supra Nationals - this year will be the fourth.
SILV06 is the weekend of September 27 - 30 - http://Vegas.Supras.Org
There will be other gatherings. I'm thinking about having something at my place (near the I84/I205 interchange) sometime in the near future - for my MkIII buddies. I've lost touch with so many - and there are even more new faces in the area. Could do a boym bbq or something. Keep your ears...
