I need a little more info ;)
What are you planning to do? Just a remote filter set-up using the stock oil cooler circuit? Or are you going to attach the adapter directly to the block with a NA filter stud and go with a thermostat controlled cooler?
Ther Earl's adapter you linked to...
I chrome ceramic coat the lower runners for $60...that includes inside the runners. :naughty:
Once the ceramic is polished, it stays that way...just wipe down with a cleaner like 409 to keep it looking like new.
Like the good Dr said, MTL is a thinner version of MT-90...it's close to a 30W viscosity wise when cold. IMO, the MT-90 is better suited for the R154...I talk about it a bit in this thread:

The in-line thermostat will just return oil flow back to the filter head until it heats up. The thermostat closes and oil flows to the cooler.
The difference in the sandwich plate is the thermostat closes a hole between the two flat sides. The oulet/inlet to the cooler is unrestricted...
Ok...I'm a bit anal and got to really looking at this sandwich plate ;)
I dropped the Mocal sandwich adapter in a pot of water and heated it up. The thermostat started closing at 65 deg C...it was fully closed at 80 deg C. Looking closer at the design of this thing, it allows oil through to...
The only problem is shipping bumps the per qt price up into Red Line territory...you might as well use Red Line ;)
If you do ship, the shipping companies do not like to ship oil. Make sure all the bottle tops are tight and put the case inside a heavy duty garbage bag inside another box.
Thanks!
Looks like the thickness will not be a problem if you use the Mocal sandwich plate. You will need to determine the filter thread size...likely a 3/4x16 thread. The way the Mocal tightens up allows you to orient the inlet/outlet holes for the cooler in any direction you wish...
The above sandwich adapter is designed to go between the filter and it's mount...the adapter is 1.25" (31.75 mm) thick. If there are no clearance issues with the filter, mount it between....that way, the oil would flow from your stock set-up, to the cooler, back to the filter before it goes to...
