Since you're not going to use the dampener... Do NOT use one of those unorthodox lightweight pulleys, they AREN'T dampened and will kill your engine. Get a stock one or the ATI dampener.

Could still be the EGR cooler gasket as the cooler is BEFORE the EGR valve so it always has exhaust going to it (unlike what was previous said in this thread).
Once it blows out enough from load it will leak all the time.

It's not a SBC where the crank is hitting the oil (that happens at the proper fill level on a SBC FYI...), the 7M crank is quite a distance from the oil in the pan.

Pull the pan off and wedge a block of wood between the crank and the block so it can't rotate, then hit it with a good impact gun or huge breaker bar...
They should be fine unless a ton of water got into the engine to get the crankcase full...

Yes. If you look at the targa you'll notice that the mounting hole is straight in while the passenger side is a slide.
Tightening the passenger side first and you'll end up stripping the driver's side (previous owner did this).
