The engine is still in the car. I have the pan off and have changed all the rod bearings so far. I'll be pulling the main caps tomorrow to inspect them.
Can or has anyone successfully changed out the main bearings without removing the crank? If so...how?
I have one idea and that is to...
Basically the sensor twisted off and the rest of it stayed in the block. I'll check on both the tap extractor and I'll call the machine shop and see what recommendations they have.
Got the dip stick tube out. I just had to man up and hit it harder! :biglaugh:
I called the machine shop and setup a time to drop off my block. They want the block stripped. No problem right?!
Well, when I was removing the oil pressure sensor, it twisted off and the threads stayed in the block. Has anyone had this happen and what did you do? It is going to a machine...
Good question. I've just seen some of the advertised ones state that. ??
I think some of the earlier "Home-made" ones weren't built very well. The ones advertised as of late seem to be made pretty well.
They're getting cheaper and cheaper though! :icon_bigg
I've been considering one of these only as long as I can keep my A/C.

That's awesome! I hate that "Bees in a Coffee Can Sound"!! Especially when there's no power. Only noise!!!
Cool man...that's one for the Gipper!! :biglaugh:
Awesome stories Jeff! Not to shabby handing it to a Lambo!!! :biglaugh:
I'm glad you posted because I'm about to do a CT26 upgrade and am going with the 57 trim.
Do you have any in stock and if so, what's the price and availability. You can PM me if you like!
Thanks...
Alright! Let's hear about it. Post your best street race win AND your worst loss.
Let us know if you've been handing it out or if it's being handed to you! Was there anything at stake...did you get a ticket...blow your motor?
Embarrassing or not...let's hear it! Don't be shy... :naughty:
Great post! I need a clutch also.
I'm in the middle of building my engine and don't know how much torque it'll be producing. Is there a formula, table, or chart somewhere that gives approximate calculations...how does one figure the approximate torque?
Not missing any point and didn't fail to search.
I simply want as many informed opinions as I can get prior to my purchase. My apologies for imposing on you; but, thanks for your input.
And 'Thank You' to all of you who graciously gave your opinioin!:icon_bigg
Ok. Let me add a little more to my question.
Here are my current and soon to be mods:
3" Exhaust (no cat) from the turbo back
Maft Pro
Balanced 440's or maybe 550's...??
Stock IC w/hard pipes
HKS SSQV BOV
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
MHG w/ARP Studs
Hope that clarifies...
I am going to have my CT26 built; but, don't know which trim to choose.
My goal for the car is for it to be a daily driver with spunk. So, what are your opinions and experiences?
In choosing between reliability and power...I choose reliability!
Thanks...
That is awesome info! Thanks guys!
Through another member in my area, I found a competant shop so my block is going in for work this week. I was quoted a 1-2 day turnaround for the amount of work I'm having done.
It won't be long after that and my baby will be back to rippin up the...
Yeah, no kidding!!!
This is my first few days of questioning and posting and things are going good for more than just myself!
This is a really great resource and so far...really great folks! :icon_bigg
