    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

IMO the fronts are the most important. The rears work pretty well stock, just not as many pistons/even pad loading. The rears would be great in a track car application, but for a street car I'm OK with OEM rears. (Plus oe's fit under 15" rims :evil2: )

The George/Raptor Racing “it’s about Freak'n time” Build Thread

This looks like a fun car to build up, George! What's the weight of it going to end up being? I would guess much lighter than a mk3. I also love that ATI damper <3

    Standalone Decision... Help!

WOOT! I think I've offered before, but if you need a base map to get the car driveable, lemme know- I have a lot of revisions, including my useless $450 professional tune X.X

    Creative block to valvecover routing?

Winner here! Fredde- I like that routing because you can turn the 90deg fitting to avoid the alternator- I've tried it with dropdown brackets and it works out decently. :)

    Standalone Decision... Help!

Hmm, I'm running low imp. injectors, but have had no issues with them! I am, however, using the stock injector resistor. I think very few computers made are capable of true peak and hold operation- they all run like saturated, but can drive low resistance injectors with a resistor in place...

    Standalone Decision... Help!

My experience/reasearch into the AEM showed a couple things that should be done to make it work really really well. 1- Use a different ignitor, i.e. a DH61 from an IS300. It gets rid of the multiplex and drives the stock tach well. 2- Modify your wirinhg harness to use sequential injection...

    Motherboard/RAID Problem

You might have to set a boot drive priority to keep the 500 from trying to load up too quickly. Disclaimer: I'm not familiar at all with RAID setups, but I know I had a similar problem when I put a memory card reader in my computer- it tried booting off of the memory card drive :/

What kind of car would make you feel worst if you lost to it in a race?

The geo storms were based off of the Isuzu Impulse- in 91 and 92 they had the RS version...an AWD 1.6 turbo that made 160hp, easily EASILY made into 300hp for an AWD ~2600lb car O.o That said- I think you guys were matched up against a Corolla/Prism- I know a guy who's running an E-85 1.6 and...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Good brakes are good :) Especially when the fronts are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than the OEM's ever were! ;) I highly advise buying either syl-glide or a synthetic caliper grease for the caliper pins/slides (the points covered with boots) and nickel anti-sieze for the caliper mount lubrication...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

JZ blah blah, JZ baller, blah blah ;) I agree that the rotors are enormous! They look so good installed too. I can't wait to get the car on the road to see how they feel! Oh, and might want to double-check your rear brakes, freshen them up at the same time...my calipers slides were seized :(...

    Creative block to valvecover routing?

For what its worth, I came up with a elegant solution for that vent line, and its adjustable to fit many diff. configurations. I used 3/4" oil resistant hose to connect to the block and valve cover vent fitting, then added a 90degree 1" PEX pipe fitting to do the turn. It can pivot and the...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Hiya Justn, I am using the AEM plug-n-play EMS. I got a new 89 harness and stripped it o the wires I was no longer going to use (cold start injector, MAF sensor, VSV's, etc) I also wired it up for sequential injection at the same time as well as installing new injector clips and such. It was...

    Quick fuel pump question

The J-tube restricts fuel flow as a backup fuel pressure regulator. When you put a walbro in, it won't flow enough fuel without driving the pressure up too far.

Where did this dowel pin come from?

Sweet! No need to stake it, just a dab of blue locktite and tap it into the rear timing cover! It's more common than most people think ;)
