Before you tear out the fuel pump check voltage at the pump first, could just be a wiring issue.

While your out there do a pressure test on the cooling system. Is it hard to start? Could also take a piece of old vacuum hose and use it as a stethescope to any areas you suspect might be a vacuum leak.

Checked your codes? Just cause your CEL light isnt on doesnt mean you dont necessarily have any. Checked all your vacuum lines? What about your ISC valve? Any other weird symptoms?

I think I woulda freak a little moe about the no oil pressure thing instead of the coolant gauge moving a little hen going around the block.

everywhere is affected by temperture this drastically. and the thin air just means the turbo has to work harder to get the same airflow, your 10 psi up here wont be as much power as it would be down at atco.

Have you installed the head all ready? Dont forget to go back in and retorque your head bolts after 5 or 6 heat cycles.

AFAIK the way you measure the deck height is from oil pan part of the block to the deck. To get such a precise meurement to render an accurate reading you need to measure through a cylinder with piston/rod missing. Cant exactly eyeball this measurement with a craftsman tape measure...

I dont suppose we have any motor trend numbers? (like a 60-0 distance?) Or better yet geneal impressions.
