Basically all of this is based on your own opinion so why argue about it?
Other than tech specs the fun you have playing each one will be different for everybody.

You'll be happy with the y-pipe, it's like putting 3" piping on a 7m. Opens it up nicely.

You don't need a degree to do it but I suppose you don't have the time. :)
I'd check up on him every once in while just to make sure he's doing it right.
Tell him to hold the y-pipes side by side and tell you they are the same diameter.
I'm not positive of the diameter as I didn't measure it.
However when we swapped it out you could see a definate difference in the sizing inside the piping.
So the stock y-pipe is much more restrictive than the aftermarket one.
