i agree about the parts getting wet, but i take a little while after assembly of anything ive washed and go over it with filtered compressed air. takes a while longer but i like the extra security it gives me.

id imagine the oven would be ok, but i'd put it in a pan of water and set it in the oven. looks like the tsrm had a pic of one on a hotplate. seems like water would transfer heat better than just air, but thats all speculation :)
annealing will make the copper more flexible by changing the molecular structure slightly, but it can only be annealed once or twice before you start seeing ill effects.
not a noticeable gain in our NA's. in my mind, the NA is never going to live up to the power of a GTE, unless you bore it and stroke it (way too much money for my budget). i'd just keep the NA in the best condition possible, and ready it for a GTE swap later down the road.
