I just drove the car to work and had no problems shifting.... Damn this is confuseing... Ive blown several clutches in my short time but this doesn't feel like a warn clutch...ive also had a master cylinder go on me but I dont think that's it but again I'm new to supras...
My new transmission...
about 1.5" then it starts to get stiff for the next 4"
I'm thinking my pressure plate may have some broken fingers and its crooked when I enguage the clutch causeing it to lightly touch the disk... I dont know whats wrong I just know it still clamps like a son of a bitch ( couldnt get it to...
the clutch has been in the car for as long as I have owned it...its not grinding gears while I'm driveing but it grinds in reverse and is hard to get into 1st gear from a stop... Clutch still grabs just fine though....its confuseing!
when my car is running and I have the clutch pedal to the floor its still grinding gears.... But when I had my friend pump the clutch while I watched the slave it is moveing and doing its job... Now I have no idea how much travel the slave has but it looks like its extending about an inch....why...
yeah im not saying its dumb or anything.....but i know you would sell more if they where stainless cause Ti will be like 4x the price lol.
but i fully support the idea of makeing them out of ti just to say you did.....if you can do it then awesome....bling factor is always fun lol
i think makeing them out of titanium is kind of a waist of money....stainless steel would be much cheaper and would do just about the same job...titanium as much stiffer then most stainless metals but the weight saveings would be worth the extra $$$ in my opinion.
I question how important marking the drive shaft really is...
Dont mean to hijack but I have to get a whole new drive shaft so I too need to know if this is a big deal.
They need to torque the head down to the arp specs not there own specs...make sure they know that.
So do you plan on driveing the supra all the way from Florida to here...ive done that trip so many times LOL...takes forever to get threw Georgia!
There is way too many factors to answer that question!
How is your tune.. What type fuel do you plan on running....how big is your intercooler.... It depends on alot of different things.
yeah I really dislike people who offer to help but then make you feel guilty about it!
But for yours and the motors sake dont drive it cause once water hits those crank bearings kiss them goodbye!
It could have a small hole in the gasket... Being that it sat for awhile it could have swelled a bit and pluged back up??? But the bottom line is that coolant WAS in there so either way its time for a head gasket.
maybe because combustion gasses blew the rad cap off? who knows....but i too am confused....maybe his radiator took a shit on him and his head gasket is fine?
was steam commin out of the tail pipe?
right now there is so much oil and rubber packed around the alternator that I dont doubt that its shorting or slipping...but right now its like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles...one problem at a time...the car is going to a mechanic tomorrow.
I checked as many grounds as I could...
yeah I'm not a fan of these cars... I told him a long time ago he should fix this leak but he is the type to wait till something breaks before fixing... Hell I just told him I'd drive him home but he insists on driveing it and says he is fine cause he has AAA... Thanks for the ideas guys but...
well I opened pandoras box on this... His power steering is leaking all over the place... It has rotted his surperntien belt and there us powdered rubber and oil all over especially around the alternator! This is beyond me... I can't find the leak cause...well...everything is wet with oil...so...
