Pissing off a mod on here will not get you banned, unless what you did to piss off that mod was actually worth getting yourself banned.
Just wanted to add that to this. People are banned for their actions against the community on Supramania. If someone is banned it's not simply because a mod...
A note: this thread would have died a bloody death long before it finally did if I had been on here and not out at a movie.
1. Asking for people's opinions on something like tail light swaps will result in you getting people's opinions. You probably won't like them.
2. After getting people's...
If you wire it to the cruise wire I mentioned, the lights will work if the keys are set to on.
If you wire it to the relay wire I mentioned, the lights will work if the key is off or on.
Both still require the use of the fog light switch to turn them on/off. Basically there are a few ways to...
The problem with putting tail lights from other cars (any other car) onto a car (any car) is that generally, they don't fit the style or, much more importantly, the shape of the car.
The MKIV tail lights are such a beast on the MKIII. No dice sir.
(PS: 86-92 FTW).
Ground it means connect it to the "negative" side of the battery, which is the entire car's chassis. There are plenty of "ground" wires as well. Wires that are white/black in the car are ground wires.
It's not electronic. It's mechanical. If you put the 88+ door locking mechanism (the latch) into your car it will remove that functionality. 1988 was the year Toyota got rid of that across their entire model lineup. IIRC.
All you are doing is isolating the fog circuit from the headlight circuit.
For Pre-89:
1. Find the fog light relay, cut the white/green wire (pin 3) and ground the side going to the relay.
2. Find the fog light switch, cut the red/black wire (pin 4) and connect the side going to the...
Jetjock, 89+ Supras have the cruise indicator on the dash, and a relay added under the dash, as the on/off switch was changed to a monetary type on the steering wheel. It is the typical cruise setup used by Toyota starting in the early 90's.
My guess is the problem is probably the cruise main...
Best to just avoid the 86 year altogether. When my dad had his 86 MK2, he would always end up getting 86.5 parts, so he just said 85 all the time. If I had an 86.5 I would say 87.
