Not necessarily, depending on how big the leak is I would say yes. What you're describing does still sound like an exhaust leak. Have you tried having someone sit in the car and gradually give it gas while you check around the engine bay?

Time will tell how they are, if there was a bit more info on research I would return the ones I got and get those.

That's the CR. You have to convert it. It's around stock I believe.
