I lined it up and pressed hard to make marks so I could see exactly where the points needed to go through the body/hatch. There is no template, and don't forget to get new gaskets or seal it so water doesn't leak through.
The water guage pegs when I start the car. Sometimes it goes slow, sometimes it goes fast.
The wire I found under the dash that's disconnected is a thick black wire with a white stripe. I found where it's supposed to go and they have a ghetto white wire they added in that I'm pretty sure goes...
H2O Guage doesn't work either. They hooked up a GReddy temp guage in the top rad. pipe instead. Nice and accurate I guess :dunno:
Oil pressure doesn't work either, but I figured that was cuz it needed the adaptor.
Looks good, looks like you did a good job. Lots of light coats with plenty of time to dry in between is what will work best. My interior has been black for over 2 years and even the spots where I rest my arm are still holding up just as good as the day I sprayed them. You'll only have problems...
Shineauto. It's meant for an FC rx7 which has a flat hood with no cowl, so the vent opening was originally 24" iirc. Obviously that was too big to fit in our hood so we took out 8 or 9 inches (can't remember) and then fiberglassed it back together so it could fit in the cowl.
Is it a thick black wire? There's one disconnected under my dash, I wasn't sure where it goes. Obviously the shop that did the wiring wasn't sure either :3d_frown:
I don't have a tach either, been that way ever since I got my 1j in my 87 too. Tried swappin in a turbo tach, didn't work. Tried the 1j tach from the clip, didn't work. I like the SAFC idea.
I work 6 days a week (Monday is my only day off) but if you want my # feel free to shoot me a PM, you could always stop by while I'm at work and I could show you the car. I do security on the weekends so I can do w/e, I just can't leave. I'm pretty close to San Fernando, and if I'm at work I'm...
Finally got the time to put it in. Still have quite a few more things to do before it's "finished", but at least it's in and working. Air pours out of the vent at idle, feels just like the hood is open. I got a new camera so I'll be able to take more new pics once it's cleaned up, but I have to...
Which is exactly why I put it in one of the forward gears first, it doesn't make that noise and slips right in.
I tried just the clutch and neutral today and it made the *CRUNCH* both times.
Reverse has no synchros iirc, so to correctly put it in reverse you need to first put it in one of the forward gears.
I push in the clutch, go 1st, then reverse. If it doesn't go in, release the clutch and press it in again, go 1st and reverse again OR sometimes 1st-3rd-reverse works for me...
