Too much water flow...it will stall the engine. Kinking it will make it difficult to control...do you have a screw clamp? (get the idea?)

Dirty valves/piston won't...it was more of a side note. Sorry if I got you thinking that. BTW - been doing this for years annually on all my cars...works very well, especially when compared to all the "engine treatments" on the parts shelf (Seafoam comes to mind).

Mass air flow sensor for Mk3 Turbo Supra

So what book are you reading...the TSRM calls it an AFM (as Figgie stated): http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=FI&P=96 The sensors are in fact the same, it's the housing that is different...especially in the amount of air that is allowed to bypass.

The harm is to the rubber fuel lines, but occurs over a long time of constant use...I would not run methanol on a regular basis. It will not harm the engine, but just might get rid of some carbon build-up. Speaking of carbon build-up, if you have a needle valve laying around, feed a quart of...

    Minor BHG, need opinions...

George - that is true, but there is no safety margin at 90 ft/lbs on the stock bolts, especially when you consider the expansion of an aluminum head on a steel block. That is why ARP head bolts are limited to 75 ft/lbs. The torsional stress experienced by a bolt (vs near zero for a stud) plus...

A lean misfire can also be a cause...check your intake manifold vac lines. Put a gallon of methanol in a 1/4 tank of gas...that will heat the CAT up ;) I've used this trick with success here in AZ on the dyno emissions. After you do the test, head straight to the gas station and fill up.

    Minor BHG, need opinions...

Use that torque on stock head bolts and you will approach the yield strength...not sure where you got those figures, but they are way too high TwoTime - Suggest you listen to the other guys if you are going to use the stock head bolts. If you use ARP bolts or studs, use the torque spec on the...

That's where I would start with high HC. Do you have any engine codes? Another consideration is the CAT.

    headgasket question

Where exactly are you getting these numbers? What brand MHG? ARP or stock head bolts? My point is none of the above are correct...pure hearsay that is not based on any MHG manufacturer or ARP data. This kind of crap is not tolerated in the Tech section.

    The (old) Official Gun Thread.

Bonus: No tax and no Fed paperwork ;) On another note, the gun club I'm a member of gives you a free machine gun rental and 2 mags during your birth month. Mine is June, so I headed down last Saturday to shoot their Mini Uzi: Got 2 extra mags (25 round for this gun) just for...

    Which Spark plug?

Maybe so, but that is you...other people (including myself) have had problems with ISO length plugs. No matter which way you cut it, JIS length plugs are correct. What I can't understand is why you would want to run ISO when the correct plugs are are available at the same quality.

    block resurfasing????

A dial caliper is not going to cut it for the crank journals...you need to measure down to in the 10 thou accuracy range. A good (calibrated) micrometer is what you need.

Catch Can not catching any oil

I assume you will block the TB port off. If not, you are turning it into an open system...a pirate air (unmetered) source straight to the intake manifold. Trust me, the TCCS is not going to like that ;) Even so, the PCV system needs to be under vac to operate at best efficiency to remove...

Catch Can not catching any oil

It's not absolutely needed, but if you put a check valve where you show (yes, that's correct) the TB line will put max vac on the filter...it's that flow from the least resistance thing ;) I would find a correctly sized (to the hose you are using) PCV valve...it is a check valve you know. I...

Catch Can not catching any oil

Under boost the intake manifold is pressurized...the PCV TB port is actually an orifice (there is no PCV valve on the stock PCV system). PCV flow is effectively reversed as a result, the routing back to the accordion hose allows the small amount of flow under boost to route to the accordion...

Catch Can not catching any oil

^^^ That will work as depicted. However, I would put a check valve (PCV valve) in the line going to the accordion hose so the TB will put full vac (off boost) on the Kolbalt filter. Orient the valve so flow will only go in the direction to the accordion hose...it should be placed between...
