Yeah I work at the dealership. I know who drove the car before I got it, etc. It's fine ;).
Jeff
For what it's worth, I've never seen a new car come off the truck with less than 10km on it.
Having seen both extensively, I disagree with it looking similar. But sure.
Supercharger will be nice, but I think I'll supercharge my 86 Corolla long before my 09.
Jeff
Yay! Brand new cars FTW. It's a black on black (dark charcoal) interior with a 5-speed. I haven't taken any pics yet, but I'm excited so I thought I'd share the news. I'll post up pics when I take them! Hopefully tonight.
Jeff
Doubt it.
Also, the only reason Land Cruiser comes up is because in the newer VIN's if the 8th character is a J it's a Land Cruiser. In the MA70's VIN, that character is used for if it's a Targa or not, so it has no relation.
Jeff
I would give them the $60, but I would seriously consider leaving if they asked me to. That's a company error and the manager stated that it would not need to be repaid if the error was found.
That being said, it is just $60, but it should just be a write-off for them. It's chump change.
This decoder is used for newer types of vehicles (like late 90's and newer), not older ones. Toyota doesn't do VIN's like they used to back when the Supra was made.
Jeff
Yeah, it's nice to just drive around commuting, etc and just be relaxed and cruising. Not that the Supra isn't good for it, it's just different in a new car.
:)
I'm going to be picking up a new Corolla as well, if all works out! :)
It's a 2009 XRS though, but the 9th Gen are nice cars to get around in as well! Is yours automatic or manual Joe?
Jeff
There were 4 types of 7M-GE dipstick and 3 types of 7M-GTE dipstick.
They all change up to a total of 3 numbers:
86.5-92 N/A: 15301-42021
89-92 N/A California Spec: 15301-42040
87-92 Turbo: 15301-42012
Jeff
Yes, I need to know if there are cars out there that don't have the system, I've seen quite a few that do. (Must be a USA car as well, as the USA is the only market to ever get the anti-theft system).
I'll get more information on the sway bars when I get a chance, I know they changed along...
