Believe it or not, it could simply be a boost or vacuum leak. Leaks can make your car do some craaazy things. - Is your car smoking at all or more than usual?

I've had a dynoing CT26 on my car before. I've also had the slightest boost leak in my lower IC pipe...it was just a thin crack, and would only open when under load building boost. The sounds were VERY similar...and happened at the same time...so I would at least make an effort to check...
