    Measuring AFM output

You can scope the KS signal from the AFM. It is light-green/red on my car. Best to use the E2 ground on the scope lead, it is the brown wire at the AFM plug. You can also use the frequency setting on your dmm if you have one. If you don't have AFM codes it's unlikely to be the problem.

    A/C Question

Most likely a refrigerant low-charge problem due to a leak. Put some gauges on it and see what you have.

89+ integrated the HAC into the ECU, 87-88 use external HAC. With this frankenstein setup you might want to make sure you have a HAC at all.

What what? an Ra of 3!?!?!?!?

The semiconductor world knows what flat is. Try maintaining a bow across 4 inches < 4 microns and an LTIR (local total indicated reading) of <0.5 microns across 15x15mm. If you can hold that then you know what flat means.

    A/C Question

No, if you're talking about the water valve assembly on the firewall. You've got other problems.

1987 Toyota Supra EWD is on its way!

Yes, that series connected starter relay is there just to support the factory anti-theft alarm. Strange they left it in for the Canadian cars. Perhaps the alarm was a dealer installed option in Canada.

1987 Toyota Supra EWD is on its way!

There are tons of errors in these documents. I'll list a few I've run across: Check Engine indicator light circuit at combo gauge connector, TEWD says C5, TSRM says C6 Cruise Control Main indicator light circuit at combo gauge connector, TEWD says A9, TSRM says A11 ABS indicator light...

But not where it is supposedly located on the home page or the FAQ. I also gave up trying to register a while back when I couldn't find it.

1987 Toyota Supra EWD is on its way!

Thanks Evil, this is nice work and appreciated. The Cygnus TEWD is definitely 89. It lacks the external altitude compensation (AC) sensor and supermonitor that are in the 87 TEWD posted here, both deleted starting in 89.

    head cam journals scored

You should check the bearing clearances (unloaded with no valve spring pressure). If worn beyond limits the rearward journals will starve for oil as the cam is fed from the forward journal.

idle issue. I'm clueless video attached

The ECU opens the ISCV all the way up after you shutdown. You should hear it after you turn the ignition off. It would be unlikely that all three are bad, they are pretty simple stepper motors. Have you checked the wiring between ISC and ECU? There are no fault codes set if the stepper wiring...

idle issue. I'm clueless video attached

Yup, 51 needs to go away when the throttle is closed, and appear when its cracked open. That validates the idle switch is working properly. 51 is not stored, so it should go on and off in real time as the throttle is opened and closed. So... q3 Does 51 go away when the throttle is fully...

idle issue. I'm clueless video attached

Okay, so you are saying it stalls if you clamp the ISC air hose shut. That is important because it eliminates pirate air as an issue, and that is the most likely source of high idle problems. Q2. Do you get a code 51 from the ECU when you crack the throttle open?

idle issue. I'm clueless video attached

Pull off the 3000 pipe and confirm that the throttle plate is tightly closed. Check all your throttle linkages to make sure nothing hangs up and keeps the throttle partially open. You have an air leak somewhere, since the car should stall when you plug the ISCV air hose with your thumb. The...
