JT2MA71's Build. Dyno video on post # 1191

jt2ma71: You've got parts for that car that I didn't even know could be purchased! And those that weren't available, you apparently built yourself- a billet oil pan?? I think that......mmm....wait....yes- YES.... I truly hate you. My car isn't even worthy of running your used break-in oil. I...

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

Well, I haven't installed the valves/springs yet, but I did install the Kaminari wing: Deck before install- You shoulda seen the nappy Mk IV wing that used to be on here... The wing, pre-prepped. Installing the mount system into the fiberglass- didn't want to just 'bondo' it on...

    Seriously stupid alternator pulley question.

:word8kn: That's the beauty of an impact gun- it places the torque exactly where you need it, on the nut.

    The day has FINALLY come...

Dude- I never heard that before. Of course, I only have 296,000 miles on my car, so I'm sure they're fine....:naughty: But now I gotta go outside and check them!

    Seriously stupid alternator pulley question.

Yeah- My buddy just removed my alt. pulley for me w/ an impact gun in like .2 seconds. Otherwise(as Jetjock said) you've got to find some way to keep the shaft/rotor from turning, like sliding a screwdriver into it WITHOUT damaging it. Easier said than done.

    Ongoing issues with starting

As far as starting and then bogging out, it sounds like the afm is not right, or not plugged in securely...Also- check the multi-wire ground below intake runner #6- that is always a problem area in starting/ running.

    i went and looked a 240z

Aside from the hyrogen-erator, I assume you would need a compressor/pump to run it up to the manifold, and some type of nozzle injector to the mani? Also, how do you safely pump hydrogen, without worrying about spark?

    Small Speakers for 89+

Technically, aren't the rears on 86.5-88 more like a 4.5 or 5 inch? All I know is that 4's are too small, and 5 1/4's need modification(which I did).

How do you remove the wheel hub/bearings?? Need Help ASAP Thank You

I just did the driver's side hub, the tie rod came off easily enough with a tie rod fork & 5lb hammer. DONT hit the threaded section unless you plan to replace the entire outer tie rod, which ISN'T a bad idea if it's original. As for the spindle itself, you have a fun time getting that out of...

    My new 7M buildup...long road.

No real news lately except purchases.... Bought a 130amp alternator, set of BBC springs for the valves, new oil pressure sender, bought into the Probe piston group buy, and just picked up a Kaminari whale tail(always loved it's subtelty over the Bomex version). Will have new pics up this week...

    Cam layout discussion

OK- that is awesome. I was thinking that the future of the valvetrain would have some sort of slide-valve technology, to get rid of the up-down reciprocating mass, but roller valves? Brilliant.

What's a safe way to fry an alternator?

Here's the deal: Back about a year ago, I went to an auto parts store to get a turbo alternator. Inventory showed that they actually had two of them on the shelf, so I got one, went outside and bolted it in. Then I realized it was a nonturbo alternator, in a turbo box. Undoubtedly, someone like...

    Starter bolt secret.

LMAO! That's not a vibration problem- that's just the Supra trying to shed some of the shit bolted to it! J/K- couldn't help myself...:naughty: Hey- Did you resurface the flywheel before putting the new clutch in? Generally, a clutch will chatter if it's bolted to an uncut flywheel, at least...
