K&Ns you are suppose to oil.. to help with the filtering.. can be sucked into the afm and kill it, but usually if it does you used too much oil..
apexi is the way to go...... doesn't need oil, its a dry filter, flows good, filters good...
i went custom for the ps line.. 50$
I have the 2jz throttle cable, i guess it doesn't bolt up to the stock bracket and you have to modify it? Mine was modified when i got it so tahts what im assuming..
My 91 turbo targa weighed in at 3620 without me in it spare tire and tools in it as well
My buddies 86.5 gte swapped weighed 3460
My other buddies 92 240 w/ a sr weighed in at 2780.. damn i wish i was light like that..
all without drivers..
I dont think the stock twins will do it.. at least without any reliability...
I am thinking about swapping a 1jz into my other supra, and MAYBE (if i keep the car) once the stock twins blow i will try out a twin S14 SR t28s on there (not exactly sure on the spcs of becauseican is running but...
at your level.. (stock fuel, low boost) i'd say 12.0 would be fine..
Once you get lex afm/550s i would go a little more conservative since timing is a little more advanced and 11.5 would be a good conservative a/f to go for..
see how smart they are.. make the address like the whitehouse or something and give them some radome name..tell him you want to send a money order and where to send it.. lol see hwat hit says..
thats what i was thinking.. trying to keep the cost down some though.. In a year or so going to swap it out for a 1jz and give the 7m to my brother to swap in his truck.. So I dont want to be out a whole lot of money.. but i want to get it done so it will last.. im gonna tow my supra w/ it...
I picked up a second supra, it got a bhg. It has a jdm engine in it, but i think im going to rip out the engine and rebuild it. Is it ok to reuse the stock rod bolts? Or should I buy new ones?
word.. and maybe theft.. I figure in an accident i would buy the car back and strip it anyways.. so thats no big deal..
on mine I put none..
Once i get to the point i got over 10k into i will look into claimed value insurance or something..
I dont think it will help at all... the tire will start to roll up and bow out the tread, making it not as effective.. I would just stick w/ the 245s.. the 255s wont help that much anyways... fwiw i went a 2.0 60' on a 225..
