I wrapped mine back up and put them in a safe place (my supra doesn't get driven much since I'm working on it). I've got another part coming in soon also... Pics to come ;).
On the note of pics, I only know how to post up attachments, how do you guys post up a full sized pic without doing...
Yeah, no joke on the cartech, I've seen 'em ;). I'm wanting to lean more toward Aaron's replica intercoolers. The pressure drop shouldn't be too much worse than a spearco version hopefully...
Egay guys... Egay ;). I got them for 125.00, decent buy considering all of the ones on there with buy-it-now options were over 200.00 NOT including shipping.
Check it out, they are in REALLY good shape and I got a steal on them. Shipping wasn't too be and didn't take all that long either ;). As you can see, the mounting tabs are fully intact, they almost look new in person.
Not really, there are a lot of twisty, windy roads and a lot of hills due to being so close to the App. Mts. Put it this way, KY the same size, if not larger than Japan ;).
Well guys, I said I'd try and buy this cover and....... I won:biglaugh:
When I get it (and when it gets warm), which shouldn't be too long from now since I only live 5 hours away from Mike, I'm going to attempt to make a rough replica out of a sheet of AL and fit it too my car. This is...
Good install, on one of you pics though it shows how easy it would have been to just use universal piping and go through the snorkel hole and save yourself uneeded bends and length of piping ;). If you bought the entire kit that Big A sells you could have saved some $ and gained a little extra...
Ok, I'm having a hard time finding or getting feedback from various sellers on ebay on their intercoolers and how many CFMs they are good for. I PM'd Big A this morning asking if he knew the CFM ratings of his two intercoolers setup with the inlets and outlets on the same side, no feedback yet...
^Grim is right on the money, and so are the other guys on the venom injectors. Venom are just bored out stockers that don't flow correctly and will crap out on you. Get RC or PTE injectors, BTW, 550cc injectors are more than enough for 450 HP ;).
Edit:: The whole "stage 5" of a turbo is...
If you are going to update your brake system, other than going full out 1K plus big brakes, get either new oem rotors, or some slotted ones like stop tech makes. The compromise in structural entegrity (sp?) versus cooling efficiency (which you shouldn't have to worry about unless you're going...
If the cylinder walls look good, how do you know that the block hasn't been bored out already and has .020 over pistons in it? Don't buy any pistons until you take it to a reputable machinist and have them tell you what you'll need as far as bore goes, along with oversized rod and main bearings...
Yep, that's what it looks like I'll be doing. Now when everyone reads this thread they'll know just why most people use 2.5" piping. Guys, both of you have been very helpful in this lilttle bit of research. Maybe the mods could put this thread in the tech section for a detailed reference on how...
Psig for 5500 (at 20 psi) is .73, at 6000 it's .87, and redline is 1.02... At 15 psi psig at 5500 is .54, 6000 is .64, and redline is .75... Forgot to add this in my last post: velocity @ 15 psi (2.5" piping) @ 5500 RPMs is 255, and @ 6000 is 278.1...
At 20 psi it should be flowing around 720.1776 CFMs @ 6500 RPMs, which would put it around 10 ft/sec less than critical velocity on 2.75" piping, correct? I don't foresee myself going any higher than 20 psi (probably not even that) as my power goals are 450-500 reliable HP. So hopefully I'll be...
bear in mind this compressor map is of a GT61 turbo from ITS, not the BOSS turbo itself. In the message I got back from suprasport he said that ITS claimed that the housing on the BOSS turbo was much better, so they will differ some, but this should give a good idea of what to expect ;).
If anyone knows of another place selling them (suprasport doesn't anymore) please let me know. Or if you know of a better way to contact cpracing, chime in! Thanks ;).
The undertray was designed to redirect more air through the intercooler and radiator, also to protect shit in the engine bay. I'll try to get one and see how hard it will be to replicate one of a similar design...
Ok, here's what I've come up with, it's probably wrong, but I tried: at 10 psi the 7M is pumping out 512.6688 CFMs @ 6500 RPMs or 35.425 lbs/min. At 12 psi it's 555.3912 CFMs @ 6500 or 38.377 lbs/min. And at 15 psi it's 616.4232 CFMs @ 6500 or 42.594 lbs/min.
So with these numbers it looks...
