Interesting thread. I'll refrain from comment (too stunned by the hood strut remark) other than to say the 15 amp IG line supplies power to the regulator for field excitation. S is the sense line and L is lamp. Normally all will have 12 volts when referenced to ground with the engine running.
Just trying to understand how you think Sparky. I'm not the one who broke my car but if I did I'd be taking responsibility for it rather than blaming parts. Not to mention the PCV system doesn't require pressure testing for what should be obvious reasons. Why you subjected it to such is beyond...
How does stupidly pressurizing the crankcase through the PCV system during a mangled boost test lead to an "obviously defective" part? Sounds more like a defective owner...
Messy next time you have to deal with it but it'll work.
Better is to tack a length of fishing line or similar around the perimeter of the part with small drops of super glue and overlap the ends a 1/4 inch. Be sure to go outside the bolt holes. Don't think it'll seal? I do it all the time. Not...
Thanks for the input cuel. SmartTire clamps around the center of the wheel so that'd solve a few concerns. PressurePro is spendy and I'm not sure I'll like the looks of the caps depending on how big they are. Whatever I go with it has to be a direct system as indirect isn't accurate enough for...
Going to need new shoes soon and I'm considering one. Anybody using the Hella TC400, PressurePro, Valet 9104, SmarTire, Orange Electronics, or Intercomp Digital for example? Or another brand? Search turns up next to nothing.
Oops. On my car they're different colors. On yours they may be the same:

You could always gain access to the ECU connector and measure to see which one is giving you grief. Member Shaef on here sells a rewire kit that might make your life easier. Myself on the few...
Already have one of those. Sort of. An older Esprit with a different body on it. Fun but not a good DD.
I dunno what it'll be but since it's likely to be the last car I own I'll have to think hard about it. Maybe a Lexus. Whatever it is it'll be used because buying a car new (even with cash as...
This has been covered numerous times. Basically what fiyota, poodles, and IJ said. Wait until oil pressure comes up and go. The sooner you get the engine out of cold enrichment by driving it gently the better. Not to mention prolonged idling reduces the car's fuel and transportation efficiency...
Maybe not the typical approach but it works for me:
The car has always been well maintained and has good records. In fact the same sort of records as used for aircraft. That said these days I put as little money into it as possible. Just enough to keep it reliable. After all it's 20 years old...
Nice looking car. As db pointed out your code 51 has to do with the TPS. Either that or you're driving the car in diagnostic mode with the engine off and AC on. If that's the case let us in on the trick because it'd save a shitload of fuel ;)
