BUY A FREAKING TSRM!!!
I've never had to remove my seats, nor have I wanted to, and I know the process by heart.
Buy a TSRM or go to the one online and read it!!!
Ya, I think I'll be looking into some cheap, possibly used tires to start with. The track only charges 60 for a half day, so even 75 per trip in tires is very doable. (even for a college kid) Add on fuel for the trip there and at the track and I should be able to have some great fun for less...
Can you give me a ballpark of what I should expect to pay for tires for 5 track days?
100? 400? 600?
I'd have separate tires for track use. I would never use my main road tires at the track.
Well give me a ballpark if I were to use them 5-10 mins at a time and then allowing them to cool between uses.
Its a 2.5 mile track. I'd drive rather conservatively as far as racing goes. Should I expect 10 laps? 100? 300?
Sorry, but I really have no idea what to expect. :)
Its a road course...
^^How long would tires like that last? I dont plan on being very aggresive, just driving harder than I would on the streets. I've been dying to try real track racing, but never had the opportunity. So I'm no pro and not looking to slide around each corner.
I was thinking about spending much...
Where do you folks get tires for racing at a track or autocrossing?
Do you just use your regular tires?
Do you buy cheap-o tires or used tires?
Do you just have the cash to burn to spend on brand new tires to rip into?
There's a track nearby that I'd love to get onto, but I dont have...
I thought there was fair warning and didn't realize that could get you such trouble.
At any rate, way to nut up and apologize. :) I'm glad to see others rely on this site for daily sanity as well as myself.
