But, IIRC, JDM doors are lighter because they don't have the same reinforcements that USDM ones have. Different safety standards and what-not.
If the door is lightened, maybe it's doable (and safe). And that is a big if.
I've seen hoses that were kinked and didn't look it. We went through 2 pumps and 1 rack on an 89 at my shop before we arbitrarily replaced all the lines. Noise went away as soon as the new lines were on.
