i just looked up some locations on that site for e85. looks like the AFB i am on is getting it soon. that is sweet! i might convert when i find out the prices on it. considering its already at 3.21 here for only 92. :nono:
so in other words i am gonna have to get long ones and cut them down. somethign that is 10x1.0mm or 1.25. couldnt i just use anything that fits as long as its a high grade and a fine thread?
i just put in my new 3200lb pp, flywheel and everything. now i have heard some ppl say you should take off the access panel on pass side after the break in and retorque the pp. is this really needed? while i am on the topic how many miles should i put on for the break in? i heard some say 1000...
well i got my tranny back in my car and put the alum driveshaft in it. the stock bolts are short. the thread only goes about half way through the nut. i have it on there like that for now so i can drive to work since its only about 1/4 mile away and i hit maybe 20mph max. but has anyone else had...
after i did my filter and full exhaust, i shimmed the wastegate. some ppl dont agree with shimming them but it was the best feeling in the word to be up at 9-10lbs. that and i tightend down my valve covers. but by the time i got it they had already caused quite a mess.
i went and got some of that "plasti dip" stuff today. i just put it on my clutch line. i took pictures and will post them when i get a chance. its already dried and it looks really good. should work great!
where can you buy that at? i would say any home improvment store. and if it works with tools i would think sears might have it. but who knows? i will look around for some though. thanks
yeah i was thinking about some kind of spray on silcon based stuff. but i couldnt find much of anything. what is this spray your talking about? i have seen lines covered in it but dont name brand names or anyhting. could i pick it up at lowes or home depot? just trying to get a general direction...
drjonez where did you get your shrink from? or did you have it put on while they were made? its hard to find somethign big enough to go over the fittings and still work well.....
so i went to napa today and the only heat shrink i can get to fit over the fittings is like 3/4" that goes down to 1/4". which would work just fine. except the price. it is sold in about 10 inch sections and cost $8 each!!! so i said F@#% that. i plan on doing the clutch line friday, so if i...
i've also thought about this setup. what all would be needed for it? oc course the unit its self, heat exchanger, resovior, pump, and thats bout it right? if thats the only cost i could save alot from trying to go to the FFIM and front mount.
i had a great time too. nice to finally put some faces to names on here. i was supprised how many ppl actually showed up. especially the MKII guys. when i got back home i saw 4 of them at the junk yard picking up some stuff lol. i will try to get some of my pictures on here as well.....
when i lived back in ohio, i hardly ever saw any. i knew 2 guys who had turbos. and one guy with an N/A, but he got that from florida. none of them were in good shape. rust does a number on cars in northern states from salt on the roads. i woudl hate to say that maybe half of those are still...
