No, although I do tend to drive my Supra pretty hard. The stock twins are the flaw of the 1J. Ask anybody and they will tell you the same thing. That's why most 1J owners go single since they will blow eventually, especially with the way most of us drive our Supra's.
Do you mean just using piping all the way from the DP to the muffler? If so, yes you can. I'm running a 935 DIY 3" exhaust system with a Megan Racing GT muffler on my 87 1J. Here's what it sounds like (back when I had my 90, setup is now in my 87).

Technically my mom's fiance reminding me of how quick I could get the Supra back on the road and also reminding me of how much it will really cost me. On top of the fact that I've been trying really hard to pay off my loan on the Supra.

Voice of reason just hit me. I'm going to just replace the stock twins with a good set. Although I will be upgrading the FMIC setup, adding an FCD, 2J machined cams, and MKIV 2J injectors.
The voice of reason just got ahold of me. I'm just going to upgrade the cams, injectors, and install an FCD and just replace the stock twins with a good set.
How much would you guys pay for a mint condition 89 All-Trac with the 3S-GTE motor, new high performance tires, new turbo, new steering rack, boost controller, 162000 miles, with an awesome maintenance record?
Yup. I have an Apexi SAFC NEO, PLX M-300 Wideband, AEM Tru-Boost guage/controller, and an Aeromotive FPR. I also have John at RRev to make my motor purr like a kitten. :D
