    2JZGTE VVT-I torque?

If wikipedia is to be believed, there was a bit of an increase in torque, at least on the 1j: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_JZ_engine However, the real appeal of vvti isn't in the AMOUNT of torque, but rather in the DELIVERY of it. Sure, a couple thousand rpm doesn't sound important on...

What other part would they have faked? "Houston, turns out we actually landed on Mars, stupid navigator." "It's ok Neil, we can fix that part in post production, just make sure you get footage of the lunar rover doing its thing." :nono:

    2jz-gte 1946 chevy truck

One of these days, we'll finish up my 48 Chevy, but that won't be until after the Supra is done. Then I'd have to find another daily, since the current daily is the Chevy's donor... Either way, really looking forward to next year, car-wise. :D

    !jz knocking sound

Well, considering it had never gotten any worse in the 3 years it was daily driven, weekly abused, I'm not convinced at all that mine was a symptom of any sort of rod knock. Not to mention the oil VOAs never came back with signs of bearing material in it... Either way, engine is being...

    44 years ago today

Lifelong friend of mine keeps trying to convince the lot of us to fly out and visit sometime. It's harder as an adult, to coordinate such trips with friends, with all the things that constitute a modern life, but I'd really like to make it out there sometime. It might just be the missus and I...

    What are you reading?

Just finished Skousen's "The Five Thousand Year Leap". Written in 1981, is as truthful and insightful now as it would have been when it was first published. Probably more so, if I'm honest. If you've ever wondered what inspired the US constitution and the founding fathers in writing it, it's a...

    1986 AE86 Corolla GT-S Supercharged

Jeff, just dropping in to say hello. If I ever found myself in a position where I didn't need to work, and didn't need money (such as a lottery winning situation), I'd be doing exactly this sort of thing. Restoring and tastefully modifying random cars. Sell them off if I don't find myself...

Thought I would share my newly inheirited car.....

Boy, that just sounds like a barrel of laughs there man... I presume that was for chassis stiffness reasons? Or were these still body-on-frame, and just attached in the most pain in the butt way possible?

My SC400 road trip through the Southwest

Sounds a lot like what I did back around this time 2006, in my first Mk3... met up with my first genuine "love" down in AZ there. Good times man, if your trip was half as rewarding as mine, I know you had an excellent time. :) Nice pictures too. Reminds me, I should head down to Monument Valley...

    The mule car

Haha, when you posted "mule" car, I thought you had something completely different in mind. I guess the word has a much more honest meaning over in your part of the world. Where I'm from, a "mule" is a vehicle used for smuggling. :p

    2jz-gte 1946 chevy truck

I'd love to see what he's done with it since then, but unfortunately, he seems to have vanished. Last log in was July 10, 2012. :(

    ***SM Member Horsepower List***

Nice powerband, looks to be quite a useable, but powerful, car. What rpm are you spinning it to when you put down that much power? Doesn't seem to be tapering off at all...

    !jz knocking sound

Mine was the crappy 3" ebay y-pipe, gotta love crappy flanges. :p As for starting it without the serp belt, make sure your battery is in good shape, because you'll be running the engine without the alternator.

Thought I would share my newly inheirited car.....

Three things: 1.) It might be an ice cream, has flateric tried licking it yet? 2.) Might be tough fitting anything bigger than an I4 in there, if I recall they are quite small. Although... F20C Honda engine... Hmm... 3.) You think the gif is retarded and annoying, wait until you meet the screen...

Definitely not a JZ: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_GR_engine#4GR-FSE Hopefully it's an easier fix than was suggested there... buddy of mine has one I'm pretty sure. :(

    Supras In Las Vegas (SILV)

If you've never been Demon, they're fun. I went to 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010. Haven't been back since, unfortunately. Really should though, by this time next year I should have something neat cooked up for you all. ;)

    Supras In Las Vegas (SILV)

Have to say, it really is too bad Idaho is in the way, you all seem like a fun crowd. :) Would love to attend SIV (kinda sounds like a disease without the "L" in there) this year, but have WAY too much going on, not to mention I doubt any of my Supras would be up for the task this year...

Titan Mk3 carbon driveshaft weight info (R154)

Not sure if this has ever been posted anywhere before, so I figured I'd chime in. Picked one of these up recently from Titan, took a little while, but I was in no rush. When it came in, I was a bit shocked. I knew it would be light, but I had no idea just how light. On a home scale that reads...
