Must be a sign.... one of the ebay Aus sellers that I watch listed the 2004-08 STi rotors last night (RDA branded) for $144 a pair (plain) or $244 pair slotted. Done and dusted :)
This rear brake conversion will be a lot cheaper than my front F40/Biot ones were ;)
Cheers

Oh :( That's gotta hurt. Surprisingly and unfortunately, it seems fairly common to get BS advice to go down the wrong path with ECUs/wiring/tuning, which really sucks, given the time and money involved! You seem to be staying pretty calm about it dude ;)
I wouldn't stress too much...
Yeah I think the shorter hat-height only came in on the models after 2008 though. Will be interesting to see when you fit them up, if you need any washers/spacers under the caliper mounting points to align the disc perfectly, let us know :)
Cheers for the info and contacts.

Yeah there's no such thing as a cheap (good) brake conversions over here hey, damn lucky americans and their cheap parts!
I can't find an RDA catalogue online, and I know there's minor differences between the later model STi rotors, do you have the part number somewhere please?
Can't wait to...
Fingers crossed for you mate, so close!
What brand of rotors did you get for the rear? I've just picked up some Evo calipers but yet to order the rest.....
Cheers

Cheers guys. Yeah its good fun to have something different, but painful at the same time, making something do things for which it was certainly not intended. Somehow I don't thing Mr Toyota had the kinds of engine conversions we choose in mind :) haha
That K&N filter is 3" inlet. Strange...
Yeah i'm just after a quality replacement, since after three second-hand original nosecones I still can't get one that sits right..... they are all bowed/twisted/deformed in one way or another from heat stress over 20+ years.
I'd be painting it the same colour of the car regardless :)
Looks...
I'd say the majority of components for HSD/BC/Stance/Megan/D2/Ksport etc are coming out of the same taiwanese factories, difference being their R&D on matching particular sets to particular vehicles, and after sales support (including repairs/parts). Some of them seem to get the ride heights...
Yep its a 1984 AE71 chassis. Actually a 2 seater panelvan originally from Japan (with steel panels in the rear), but I converted it with Japanese 2 door Wagon glass to make a 2 door window van :)
Lots of fun, 328kw at the wheels, and 10 second quarter mile. Used it for hillclimbs...
Whatever you choose in the end, please DO NOT go for coilovers from these guys for your MK3 http://ceikaperformance.com/
They have trouble with their suppliers, incorrectly specify their parts for the vehicles they claim them to fit, and basically just spin you a whole heap of BS once you've...
Bad customer service probably stemmed from poor quality products that they couldn't support.......
They looked great in pictures, but had terrible fitment (several products, not just the moldings). I think the problem came from using old parts to make their molds, which had already shifted...
Nice work. Lost track of this thread sorry so never replied about the Recaro seats. I don't have the Bride rails, just adapted the factory Evo sliding rails to the original JZA70 floor mounting brackets (via 5mm plates running the length of the seat, and some welding).
Cheers
