Guess my R154 bit the dust

Bullshit the syncro rings have nothing to do with grinding. It is the grinding noise directly. The transmission is syncronized. That means the gears are always in mesh, they just freewheel on the shaft. The shift fork moves the collar over gears to lock them together. The syncro ring matches the...

    Having troubles starting.

Me, I use whatever premium "dino oil" is on sale at Wal-Mart that week, in 10W-30 for summer, and 5W-30 in the winter. It can get cold in Ohio and Colorado. I change it, oh every 6 months or so. When I am done messing around over here, I will put on my by-pass system, and just leave the...

Why would retarding timing pass emissions?

There is something wrong with your car. It could be that engine timing is off, or camshaft position sensor is off. All you did is bring it back in line by moving it. Just a guess.

    What is a VSV?

Vacuum switching valve is the correct term. The name describes its action. It isn't sensing or any other term you might have heard.

Supra was sent into RCTS today

The only question remains is why are you putting up $15,000 when you could get a 7MGTE factory car mint for far less money?

2 annoying problems on my Accord

The compressor likely has a low pressure cut off. That means you don't have refridgerant, in opposition to what you think. I am assuming everything is working correctly when the light turns on. What does not work? Everything is normal, but no cold air?

    Couple of questions

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=EM&Page=74 I was just refering to that there is "flat" and then there is flat. I am talking about the latter. Your right, the block won't warp as easily as head. But you just want to be sure. A level with a bubble like a...

    VVTI

The torque peak is the most effecient operating point in the power curve. It only has one point because the cam is only one point. The manifolds, head and timing are layed out to maximize this one point for all drivers. VVTi eliminates that restriction. The cam can be varied to fit any need...

    Couple of questions

The block's warpage spec is only .002". I highly doubt it would ever reach .008" anyway. I just don't want to see you go through a lot of work only to lose the gasket a few months down the road.
