Well looks like the pistons are promising. Gonna take them to a shop and my friend said he has an extra block I can use which I think I'm gonna take him up on it.
So list of things:
Polish crank (possible undersize)
Deck, bore and hone the block
New rings
New bearings all around
Freeze plugs...
That's pretty much the only thing I can think of that could have done that.
No other explanation that I can fathom. It makes sense to me since none of the damage is really deep seated scratches. It's all really shallow marks and lots of little ones.
Who knows Moe I may be done before you again...
I dunno if the pistons are shot I need a second opinion. They feel like they could be reusable. There is damage but they seem to be serviceable.
New rings, bearings, hone and I figure it should be good to go again.
Gonna have the crank polished again as well. First gonna get that manifold...
LOL sorry!!!!
As you can tell from looking at the bearing, something got into the oil flow.
The rings were pretty much stuck to the pistons, which would explain the terrible compression.
Should be able to see a bit of the piston damage. Not terrible from what I can tell but never...
