dude, i would buy a brand new 2jz-gte shortblock from toyota before blowing 3k on a 1j rebuild. IIRC my friend (albeit with a employee discount) picked one up for 1800ish.
MAJOR update, no more 7m. the motor left with my friend jon, so that he could use the mounts and pan for his car. glad its gone and i can move on with the 1j.
I just heard back from JHot and it looks like they are going to take care of me. They said that they were going to either send me the parts or a nice check.
because i now need to spend over $300 to get this motor together. JHot and UPS freight decided that they want to stop me from getting my supra on the road. i pulled the motor off of the pallet to find that the oil pan is destroyed, oil is leaking everywhere (thought people shipped engines dry...

i would not concider 9:1 high compression, its all in the tune and fuel (notice i didnt say gasoline) that you are running. i know of someone with a MONSTER turbo AND high compression (over 11:1), but they are on standalone with a sick tune running strait meth
