Just to clarify the forst post, when he was describing the two transmissions, I don't thing he was talking about W58 VS R154, I think what he was describing were the two types of R154s.
The 1JZ was only mated with an R154, but there are two different shifter positions you can get for them...
I needed something to drive while I rebuild the bottom end in my 1JZ, so I bought a RA64 Celica coupe off of a local guy for cheap. I forgot to take a picture of it while it was still light out, but it looks sort of like this one I took from wikipedia (except mine's white).
The car is...
I know. When I first got my psp, I updated it to 2.6 (the latest at the time), and was like... "shit". Finally, a year later, I go back and check out the modding community, and find I was sooo behind. haha.
Well, the reason I modded mine was so that I could play FFVII and GT2 on it, but I also like being able to fit a whole bunch of ISOs on my 4gb stick so I don't have to swap discs all the time.
Yeah, a lot of diesels use variable vane turbos. They don't work well on gas motors because the EGTs are too high for the materials used. The only company taking the plunge with exotic materials would be porsche :)
but would a shop cost less then buying (worst case) another set of bearings when you find out the first ones are not quite right? I would use the markings, get the bearings, plastigauge it all, then if any are out of spec, re-size those ones.
