    5m crank in a 7m, or just go 5m?

Um - sorry if i sound a little dim here - but what about the 6M head? I know the 6M was JDM/EUDM only - but is it identical to the 5M head, or does it flow totally differently? Just throwing out an idea that may (or may not) have some merit...

    I found this...

I'd say yes - but i'd go for an E30 (ie, 84 onwards) if you can find one. If not - yeah, bag it. Still got an I6 in it :)

How much boost/power on fresh bottom end??

The moment you said that, the word DeLorean popped into my fron :biglaugh: Getting back on topic - you can just pick up a cheap turbo motor from someone thats done a 1JZ swap. Spending loads of time and effort on an N/A that you're eventually going to turbo - you might as well put the outlay...

    Laptop choice

P4 has 28 stages, and later, 31 stages. The Pentium-M has a 12 stage pipeline. Ie - it can execute two instructions in the same time it takes the P4 to do one. As i was saying, in anything other than FPU intensive applications, the Pentium-M rules. I have an Opteron Desktop machine myself (Dual...

I dont like the 'feel' of modern Dell machines - too...plasticky. feels too flimsy. If you ask me they sacrificed build quality for price, at least on some of the low end models. Although, Compaq years ago had the best build quality ever. I had an Armada 7400 and it was made from magnesium +...

    Laptop choice

Laptop rather than desktop - especially if you're going to be using it for EMS and datalogging. $350 sounds like about the right price for both of those. I have a Dell C640 and it's been rock solid - built it from spare parts, and its easy to shoehorn in new bits... In the UK at least...

Erm - you do realise that the Pentium-M kills the Celerons and even high model P4's in almost everything thats not FPU intensive. The Pentium-M's instruction pipeline is shorter, than the celerons, so the speed differential makes no difference. For day to day usage, and gaming, the Pentium-M...

Dell easily. Centrino Platform means the Pentium-M CPU and it'll walk all over the mobile Celeron. Plus - it being a gateway means much easier to get parts for, should anything break - just my £0.02 ;)

    2JZ-GE head + 1JZ-GTE block = ????? NO 56K!

Actually its the Mazda 3 is based on the Focus Floorpan, and the Mazda 6 is based on the Mondeo Floorpan. The focus of course originated in Europe in 1998 - you folks got it a lot later, and from what i hear, you're still using the original Mk1 - we're already on the Mk2's and have been for a...

    Update Cell Phone Lately?

Yeah, my mate Dan has the W900i - good phone, the same camera as on my K750i. And yes, i upgrade phone whenever i can, usually at least every 6 months. Switching to O2 though makes a lot of difference, reception virtually everywhere and no dropouts.

    Update Cell Phone Lately?

I honestly dont know why anyone would choose any kind of Motorola Phone - the UI is crap and the phones themselves, with the exception of the RAZR V3, are just junk. I had a Motorola C520 once, and it sucked. Then i changed to a Nokia 3210i and all was well. I followed that up with an 8110i...

what base timing do you run?

Well 10' BTDC is stock for N/A's, i run mine at 12' BTDC though - notice marginally better fuel economy, but that could have something to do with it being set at 8' BTDC before....
