    Weight reduction

Well shuts me up. How come he went with the auto, was it purely for drag racing reasons, or did he break the R154?

    Weight reduction

Not sure I follow... Tyler's car is still on the same R154 as far as I know: http://youtu.be/7JYN-D4l0Yg

12:1 compression bad idea for boost?

Wouldn't be unheard of, but you don't see many Supra engines with compression ratios that high. If you had direct injection, I see nothing wrong with high CR and boost, but on our engines? I'd be a little wary. However... what is your compression ratio when you're cramming 12-15psi into the...

Why do most of the MKIII owners not buy hood struts?

You know, I went the other route with mine (or, it came like this), and have a normal hood prop. However, when the wind blows hard enough, and picks your hood up just enough to let the prop drop, and your hood slams... that's no fun. Fortunately my struts are blown (painter didn't bother taping...

What's The Dumbest Thing A Car Manufacture Has Done?

The problem isn't with the Toyotas, it's with the modern Toyota drivers. They've become the new Buick. :p

I say leave it like that, looks good!

    1UZ swap complete. S366, Haltech, E85, etc.

The ONLY downside to higher displacement engines is they tend to weigh more, that's the only potential issue I see. On a Mk3 though, that wouldn't matter, and in this case, the 1uz is lighter than the JZ that was pulled out, so double benefit in this case. :)

Widebody: S2 front fenders and Kaze Aerocraft rear fenders (Shineautoproject Replica)

I know you crazy Californians can get away with that style and all, but how the hell does having a rear tire that close not tear the fenders a new one? Does your suspension not move? Car looks good man...

\thread? I think this sums it up.

    lets talk shift knobs

Thread size is M12, should be 1.25 thread pitch. Someone correct me if I'm mistaken please. Also, I'd totally rock one of those shift knobs on the link you posted, but it seems they no longer sell them, at least from my brief scan through that thread...

What's The Dumbest Thing A Car Manufacture Has Done?

I wonder though, if the hose fitting (the water neck?) is being eaten up by corrosion and leaks, how is that a better design? I can't say I've ever had to replace a metal thermostat. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for weight loss where they can be had, but it still seems odd in this application...

Post a pic of your recent purchase

Both of those things are definitely ON the table. You know, I really should just start a build thread for the car. No money is going to be spent on it, and things will likely be slow, but why not? :)

    1JZ-Intermittently Won't Start

I've seen this on many a 1j swap, and even Mk4's a time or two. Never did really figure out what the cause was, happens to me on occasion, but it's only hesitant to start if it's been driven long enough to get things nice and warmed up. Same thing here though, cycle the key a few times, and make...

    Keyless push button start?

You know, when I ran the night crew at the local Home Depot, I would let my car warm up as I made the rounds around the store, making sure everything is locked up and cleaned. Never once worried about anybody stealing the car. My secret? 10 minute (well, 9:50 really) turbo timer. Start car...

    1UZ swap complete. S366, Haltech, E85, etc.

True, but I'd be willing to bet if his setups were run side by side, the v8 car would pull due to the early powerband. As much as I like high strung smaller motors, low end grunt isn't entirely overrated...

Anyone in the mk3 community into drifting?

Drifting is about control... power just makes it easier to make mid slide adjustments. Hell, I got my brother's old 2000-ish Caddy Deville sideways through weight transfer alone, and that thing is FWD, not to mention about 800 lbs heavier than a Mk3. ;)

    Spraying undercoating in engine bay?

Not sure, but I bet it would blend... Seriously though, it's tar based in most cases (if not all), so yes, it would trap heat. Side effect though, it would keep your interior from getting engine bay heat... not so much a problem on Supras, but on Miatas, this sort of mod makes for a more...

    Weight reduction

Not really something for the amateur, but if you're serious, this is the level of dedication to SERIOUSLY lose weight while maintaining the car's luxuries. Seam welding is a good idea too. Also, if you can swing it, you'd be surprised just how much better a set of forged magnesium wheels are...

    Anyone gonna get this?

Small enough turbo will have plenty of quick response, ever driven a stock Z31? Hard to tell they're even turbocharged... Still, makes me wonder how they're only getting 200hp out of 2.0l with that high of compression.
