I would hang onto the old ones, in case you get a lighter hood at some point, or if someone you know does. ;) Should try lifting the hatch on a 4th generation F-body sometime. Supras are heavy, those ones are obscene.

Well, I've never known a stock electronic 7m to NOT backfire when you stick an exhaust on it, so I wouldn't worry about it much. Are you running a catalytic converter? The turbo cars like to run rich, particularly when you run a BOV to atmosphere, but if you have the stock BOV...

This has me scratching my head as well... did you guys get F-body cars down there? Here they were done in 2002. Dry sump a feasibility for your project? That will solve that clearance issue... especially in the wallet!

Likely just a regional thing. I've only ever seen the "ribbed" version myself, and I've seen a lot of MkIV wheels over the years.

I used to do the same with the Miata, the SS, and the Supra. Tops off, AC cranked, and enjoy the nice AZ weather. :)
