Not hard to do, but when you consider even the Pentium E2160's blow the D's out of the water in terms of performance per clock, its not hard to see why people dropped the PD's ;)

Heh - fans are only needed if you have a crappy cooling system - i only have 2x80mm case fans (one in, one out) and they're almost silent. The loudest thing i have is the Zalman, but even that can be turned down with the aid of the fan controller.... As for the Powerbook...well...sell it and...

They're cheap at the moment, although depends on whether you want a cheap upgrade or another 5/10% more performance when the new 45nm E8xxx and Q9xxx series come out in a month or two.

65*c under prime isnt unheard of. Most of the time, 100% full load on both cores is almost unattainable unless you're running some serious encoding. Even Crysis only taxes both cores to about 85% and the chip hits only 50*c or so under load.... 1.45v sounds about right for 3.6 as well - its...

Orthos is like multithreaded Prime95, so both cores get tasked with full 100% load. Doward - i think it might be the limit of my motherboard more than the chip itself. Perfectly stable at 373Mhz FSB but 375 = fail no matter what voltage i use. I'm using the Rev 1.x P5B-E so theres no NB...

Yep - Taunus V4 engine. Used in the Cortina, Granada, and Ford Transit Vans in the late 60's early 70's. The V6 engine was a development of it, hence why ours had 2-port exhaust manifolds, and the US market had 3-port - you could drop the V6 into a V4's engine bay with NO mods needed.
