This man is correct...unless of course, Fuzz is taking the HD source and re-encoding them for DVD - in which case the point of quality is entirely obvious :)
The bitrate doesnt just change when you put it on a disc, the copy on the disc, is the same as the copy on your hard drive.
If your TV is 1080p and the copy is 720p, you're upscaling, so it might look a bit pants.
HD doesn't 'degrade' on a disc.
I use Verbatim DL's and they're 100% fine. They're more scratch resistant than most, and the disc has a quality feel to it.
The only tradeoff is the 2.4x burn speed, but if you're burning large clumps of data i wouldnt want to burn faster than 4x anyway.
