Today I worked some more on the rear left wheelhouse, most of the undercoating is gone there.
I also cut away some rust that I will weld the next time I'm there.
When taking apart the rear subframe before I had a problem with one of the bolts holding the
diff...
I love Megasquirt.
Make sure you get Megasquirt 2 PCB v3.0 and then use the ms2_extra code.
I use it in my turbo converted mazda and have done that for about 3years.
I will install MS2 in my supra when it's time to take care of the engine.
FYI, VEMS is megasquirt with more restrictions...
Nop, I did use welding gas (Mison 18), but I was working against gravity and it was hard to reach and therfor the result :/
I first used a gasket scrape with a hammer and then I'm using a product called label off to remove the remaining stuff.

My arch dilemma is holding me back a bit. I want to cut away more rust and weld in new steel.
But I need to change my arches and depending on the way I will take to solve this problem I might
make it harder if I repair to surrounding rust. The best way is to weld...

So, I tried a product called Label Off and it worked extremly good on the sound deadening mats.
The idea was also to try it on the undercarriage paint since both are based on asphalt,
but it didnt do much good. I then removed the remaining undercarriage paint in...

Now I'm done welding the top part of the plate that I started on the last time.
It still looks like rabbit shit, but it seams to work...atleast I hope so.
Then I did some more work on the plate that goes around the fillerneck.
I cut the hole for the opening and...
Thank you guys :)
So far it looks like the rust liked the rear wheel houses to much to go anywhere else, which I'm glad for.
Now it's time for another visit to my supra...there will be an update up later tonight (swedish time)
-:|Update - 2008-01-18|:-
It was time to bite the bullet and start welding.
I got started on the part around the filler neck pretty ok but when I took a break from that
and start inside the wheel house it got bad :-/
My welder didnt want to work like I wanted it to, I got alot of spatter...

Did some more work on the subframe today. But I'm having some problem removing one of the bolts
holding the diff in place and the bolts holding the lower control arms in place are stuck.
I also removed the rear bumper.

A bit more stripped subframe...
so you are going to remove the t-stat? Or are you going to drill a hole in it so that the water can run thru when it's cold and the pump is pushing it?
What gains do you think you will see?
I (with the team) have use that pump in a formula student car and we used that instead of the stock...

Do you think the rear ones stand stable? I tried pushing the car and it stod still.
For those of you who place them on the pinch welds, do you put something between the pinch weld and jackstand?
EDIT:
Van: Yes, I will start...

The supra is now on jackstands and the wheels are off. Almost all interior is out and so
