-:|Update - 2010-03-05|:-
Today I removed the casings for the bushings and the remaining part of a sway bar link from
one of the front lower arms.
I also finished the reinforcement beam on the right side and started on the left side.
The beam was a lot more crushed on the left side so I...

Today I took a trip to a fellow Swedish supra owner to take a look at his build
and to see what spare parts that he could sell to me.
I got back with everything around the steering wheel and ignition that got damaged by
the fire, an undamaged door molding...
Ok, now I know :)
I think I will hold off on welding that til I'm removing the AC and installing a cage so that there won't be any more fires.
So I'm putting that on the list.
Is there anything you would recommend me to weld? :)
Thank you very much! I really appriciate it.
This is going to be a street/race car. Me and a friend got our hands on a Porsche 924 which will be a all out race car. It's already primered, brackets are gone, all sound dampening is gone. So I don't have to turn the supra into a all out race...
Just as far as you can see...so far.
Since I'm not pulling the engine and fixing the engine bay this time around, I don't want to destroy the paint to much there or risk burning morecables and what not.
But I'm going to see if I can reinforce weld the beams a little bit further. Which plate...
hehe nice :)
Are you going to build the fuel cell yourself or buying?
Regarding the reinforcement welds: What do you think about my work? Is there anything else you think I should weld?
Looking forward toward the next update!

Today I continued with reinforcements welds on the beams running on the left side of the supra.
I also did some more around the spare wheel holder. I painted the hard to reach areas with primer.
That primer is easy to wipe of with some solvent when it's time for...
Thank you :)
The only problem I have is with the arches, those are not easy. But at least those are the only repairs visible after all the trim is put on.

Started today with buying a new angle grinder.
At first I just wanted to replace my cheap one with another cheap one, but then
I noticed that the store (Jula) sold a Bosch with kick-back protection.
I checked the prices in other stores and on ebay and decided that...

It took awhile for me to get to the garage today. And when I got there I couldn't spend
much time with my supra because I got a text say that I have a package waiting for me
on the other side of town (Stockholm) so I just threw me and my girlfriend into the car...
Yes, but I would skip the coupler and just weld it. If you do this you can wrap the entire pipe to protect the air going in to the motor from heat.
Have you been able to test the alarm anything? Like the communication between the sender and alarm?
It's always nice to see some progress in your thread :)
Where did you get that alarm? ebay? link?
Re. the BOV pipe, why don't you get that coupler replaced with welds and put that BOV pipe after the strut tower so that you keep it away from the heat from the turbo?
-:|Update - 2010-02-06|:-
I finished my battery tray today. I still need to weld some screws in for the brackets
holding the strap down.
Then I wanted to continue with grinding down some welds in and around the wheelhouses, but
my angel grind doesn't want to work with me now, each time I...
