    clutch options 8xx hp ?

Myself, I bought a SPEC twin disc. Set me back about $1600 or so, but I know it will last a lot longer than 3 clutches that *might* hold the power I'll be putting out, and I don't have to do two extra clutch jobs. From experience with a friend's 500+whp setup, just do it right the first time...

    500hp 1jz vs 350hp alltrac

Dustin was allowed to go out and play? Seriously though, that Celica is a lot lighter than a Supra, so 350hp goes a long way...

2jz vvti abnormal noise from head

Sounds like something is trying to get out... and is knocking until you let it out. :p Seriously though, does the sound go away after driving for a bit? Might be an exhaust leak. Might however be something smacking around inside the engine.

    3.4L V-6 swap?

You want dependability, extra oomph, and good engineering, but still want to keep it in the family? 1UZ my friend. :) Aftermarket isn't exactly there, but if you're looking (and able) to swap an engine that didn't belong in this chassis, that shouldn't stop ya. ;)

I need quicker spool (1JZ) Ideas??

Jay, remember the basics. You want air to flow in and out as fast as possible, correct? Have you ported your head lately? ;) Best money I've spent in laying ground work for making this a fast car...

    Need help!

Errr... fortunately I've managed to avoid the leaking capacitor issue on the 1j, but sounds like what you have here. Someone who has had it happen should be able to confirm this suspicion.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Proceeded to get mine nearly stuck (high centered) at the base of my driveway since there was a good 10-14" of snow piled up there (hint, if you're not gonna shovel, make sure you get the speed to clear the drift), then proceeded to shovel what I could out of the way. :) Also... may have laid...

Kinda sad and cool... all at the same time...

Heh, keep dreaming sir. Much as I might like to see it happen (if only to discourage stupid kids from buying them and destroying them further), I honestly don't see it happening. Cars tend to have a genesis and a pinnacle. The Supra's genesis was the 2000gt. Its pinnacle was the MkIV. Both of...

Give me reasons to keep the supra.

You know, as a kid in high school, I always wanted a 4th gen Camaro. Fast forward 3.5 years after I graduated, and I bought my first Mk3 Supra. Fast forward another ~2 years, and I bought a 2001 SS. Had I bought these cars in reverse order, I probably would have absolutely loved the Camaro...

How much does your supra weigh?

I'll play along for posterity's sake with the last iteration of this particular body setup: Year: 1989 Engine: 1jz-gte Tranny: R154 Options: ABS, AC, power seats/mirrors Roof: Targa Body: Stock, MkIV TT 17x8 wheels with 255/40/17 Continental DWS tires Weight Reduction: PWR radiator (but holds...

Best lowering springs with front lip?

Welcome to "how to live with a lowered car 101" sir, that's just what you have to do. Either live with it and drive slow over bumps, or set your suspension up a bit higher so you don't have to. :) Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the Blue Tokicos are a bit softer, more like the OEM setup...

87 Supra Competitor in 2012 Targa Newfoundland

OP, thanks for sharing, I was unaware that there was a Mk3 in the 2012 Targa Newfoundland. I knew about the Mk4, and have followed it the past few years since Flyin Miata has made a couple attempts at it, although they went with a different approach: 5.3L LS based V8 in an NA Miata. Car is a bit...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

I'm pretty sure I understand the ISO breakdown, at least on a basic level. Thanks for the explanation. Now, this doesn't specify what the particles ARE, merely their size and approximate number, correct? I initially thought that the less particles the better, but there are going to be natural...

Fair enough. Eventually you'll run out of stuff to fix/improve on the Supra though, will you not?

Bring back the Kaminari 3 piece spoiler???

Eh, I trust Shine, having seen their products, meeting them years ago at SILV, seeing how dedicated to the Mk3 they are, having done business with them, etc. The other companies, I honestly have no idea of their reputation... Not like I could replace this thing easily if they screw it up...
