I find that funny that it'd flash that every 3,000 miles when my old '87 had a sticker on the factory airbox that said, "Oil Change Interval: 10,000 miles standard use, 5,000 miles heavy use"...or something like that...I could be a bit low on the mileage posted, it's been over a year and a half...

Well, as long as the head on my current motor is ok, all I'll need is a block cleaning and have the block and head machined for a MHG....otherwise who knows what I'll need depending on the condition of the head.

**Update** So I think I know what happened to the #5 Main Bearing. After talking to my parts guy, his ninja computer skills showed only bearings marked 1 and 2 were available for the #5 main, and mine had a bearing marked 3. The bearing's scoring is dead-center along the bearing, about 1/4"...

Nope, haven't forgotten that....but I've seen smog techs look right over shit they should've caught and failed you for on visual. I've also seen other techs actually catch it and fail you like they're supposed to. Depends on how seriously they take their job, or how knowledgeable they are...

As long as that turbo has a CARB E.O.# on it, it's legal. Besides....if the car came factory as a Turbo, how the fuck are they gonna know whether your turbo is stock or not? Not unless they actually break out the book to look at the pretty pictures...
