i wouldn't do either. i'd single it before i put it in the car. seeing that you'll have to pull the whole motor JUST to remove them when you ARE ready to go single it'd be wise to single before the swap.
plus stock twins suck at controlling boost. one minute 12psi next minute...

MKIV piping is a little different than the MKIII with 1J. piping will be a little different, but you wont have to mod it too much to get it to work.

i ran 16psi on mine daily. shimmed the wg so it'd only fall to 14psi by redline.
after 15 psi it'll still make more power just not as much per psi.
i went 13.4@104 on 16 falling to 14 by redline
