It definately sounds like your knock sensors are causing it to mess with your timing. Are you getting any codes at all. It seems like there should be a code 52 in your near future. Vixens car was having the same problem because of the knock sensors. Is .044 the normal gap for your plugs...

I really lowered my car to make it look better. I used Tein coilovers, and they ride really good. I haven't tried any other coilover or any other combination, so I don't have anything else to compare it too. Good luck.
