I'll agree with the title of the thread but go one futher.
Experience if better than enthusiasm, but without at least a little of both, why would you even bother with a supra?
no, I mean the bracket/lever that mounts over the top of your cam covers. The Cable for the Cruise control dont actually connect to the TB. Just at the throttle cable itself doesnt actually connec to the tb. Oddly the only cable that connects to the tb is the auto trans kickdown cable.
But Im...
Oh my, I have been pulled over so many times, but not in a looooong friggin time. Last time I was pulled over I was giving a neighbor aride in my 73 Celica that I had litterally just pulled out of cold storage from the Central Oregon winter. Speeding down 3rd st in Bend I went from right lane...
wow some of the responses made me LOL, some made me think (onejoe...thats an interesting tidbit), and some made me think you guys need girlfriends!
Interesting ratio here on the last one too.
I dont drive crazy, or should I say any crazier than I do normally. Guys like Tim and Steven know...
Aside from the natural urge to turn up the boost controller and go burn off some fuel and rage at the same time...What do you folks like to do to "get it all out"
I write. I am known to be a bit long winded (I know, say it inst so) but I will get to hammering on the keys so fast that a...
you may not notice the water temp change, I was refering to exhaust gas temps. that doesnt necessarily correlate to higher water temps. Just do some research. The EGR was put there for a reason.
Cant tell ya off the top of my head how much. But cooler exhaust temps is a good thing. Im sure the search button right up there in the header will yield some results.
That sucks man, but sounds like you got a great attitude about it. Just a couple things I can answer for ya real quick. No, you cant really reuse a Felpro (composite hg) but the ARP's should be fine to reuse, just run a tap into the threads on the block and a die down the bolts to clean the...
removing the EGR will likely cause your EGT's to rise. Most of the guys on this forum that I respect say there really is no good reason to remove it. About the only reason I can think of to remove it entirely from the system is if its not functioning correctly and you cant afford to fix it.
where did you buy your fuel pump? Was it Ebay by any chance? do you have a fuel pressure gauge? what does it read at idle without boost reference? does the pressure bleed off as soon as you shut the car off?
If the answer was yes to most of those questions buy a new fuel pump from a place that...
just to clarify, there is no cable that goes to the TB, it goes to the throttle plate that sits on top of the cam covers.
If your steering wheel still have the controls you need the speed control ECU(under the dash, but forget where) the actuator, cable and related vacuum lines, the speed...
The two most common reasons a manifold gets warped is improper intallation or removal sequence (i.e. removing one bolt at a time starting at one end and working to the other, rather than starting in the middle and working your way out and doing it in stages) and overheating.
When you spray...
I fought with this very same issue with My car for months. It was none of the above responces. Strangly enough my car was flooding. Every once in a while when it would do this if I immediately put the pedal to the floor while cranking I could get it to fire. But if I failed that attempt then it...
for statistical stats I voted Composite/head prep only/problems - I immediately blew the HG within 10 miles but I know my prep was faulty on the block. There was some bad pitting I hoped I could fill with spray copper ...and I was wrong.
Also you can add one more stat from me on my second go...
