The primary reason I like a FFIM on a 7M is to get that stupid piping crossing the engine out of the way. It makes it 100 times easier to change plugs (something you do on a modified car a lot), keeps your intake piping from crossing over a hot motor, and overall cleans up the engine compartment...
Yea, I guess that's probably it - I've only used a paperclip once or twice and they have been very large ones - generally I use a purpose made jumper wire that I keep in my tools.
I can never figure out why you guys do these things to yourselves.
Look, 1000 horsepower is equivalent to roughly 2.6 billion joules of energy per hour. A gallon (3.8 liters) of gasoline contains about 132 million joules of energy, therefore, a 1000-hp crank horsepower engine has to be able...
The fuel pump should not pull enough amps to heat a paperclip. I'd say you have a short, or a bad pump.
Try to track down that sound under the hood. You can sometimes hear the fuel flowing through the rail, but a "whirring"? That seems odd as well.
Are you certain somone hasn't added some...
500 Miles of fairly mellow driving. Slippage is the thing you really want to avoid here. No "holding" the car on a hill with the clutch & throttle instead of the brake (something you should NEVER do anyway). No hard launches. No boost or full throttle runs. You don't want to overheat or "glaze"...
If you aren't going to mod the car much further a Stage II is probably all you need. I've driven the Stage III however and I found it very easy to drive on the street.
Doing a proper break in on these clutches is the 100% most important part. Once they are broken in they last a long time. If...
You said 260 HP? Is that crank or on a chasssis dyno?
What type of driving will be done?
Daily Driver?
Road Course?
Drag Racing?
All of this goes into the consideration as to which clutch to buy.
We need more information before we can give you decent advice.
All,
I had my doubts this year about TX2K6. I thought the event might be winding down. I was seriously wrong. The event is kick ass so far and the turnout is awesome.
And the MKIII presence this year is the best ever. There are TONS of MKIII's out here from mild to wild. A lot of really...
Hi,
I just found this thread, sorry for the delayed reply.
Unfortunately about a year ago I ran into some family issues and I couldn't dedicate the time to the business that it deserved. At that time I had merged with another company. My partners tried operating it without me for a short...
I thought I would repost something that I posted up on my site back in 2004:
Diagnosing Engine Noises can be the most difficult thing a mechanic can do. Misdiagnosis is the norm rather than the exception.
I almost laugh when people open up and say it's a "rod knock" for every noise from...
