One can should do one set of wheels only and that's if it all comes off with the first application. You might have to do some follow up applications but that's a big MIGHT. You really need to saturate the rim.

Post some pics when you're done. I want to see how they turned out. Just be sure and take the wheels off the car first ;). Saturate the wheels with this stuff and let it set for about 5-10 minutes, then spray off with water.

No you do not have to take the tire off the rim. Just take the wheel off the car. The current tires on my car are old so I didn't bother masking them off.

If you are using a pre 89 lip (and it appears you are) on an 89+ bumper then the lip is going to hang over it a little.

I don't understand, if it won't shift up, then how can you feel it downshift to 2 and 1? More than likely the cable that runs from the transmission to the throttle linkage(can't remember what it's called, kickdown or downshift cable) is out of adjustment. Mine used to go through all the gears...
