If it's not detonation, it's not really all that harsh. There's no "explosion" in a properly running engine, just burning and expansion.
With that said, I'd give you good odds that it was at idle.
And yea, that was a damned cool video.
The thing that has ALWAYS amazed me is how stable they are. At those speeds they don't feel any different than they do at 120. Which feels no different than 80...

What I use is the following:
Wash the car with blue dawn dish soap. (It's very alkaline, so you don't want to do this more than once or twice a year...)
Clay bar the entire car.
Wash again with a detailer wash like Zaino Z-7
Polish with something like Zaino Z-2
Follow up with Z-6, then Z-5...
Front wing = thumbs up
Side skirts = eh
Headlight covers = no
Rear bumper = ew
Rear visor = teh gay
Louvered 1/4 windows = holy fucking 1980's
Wing = rice
Overall that's a fucking nasty kit.
