I would not pay $3000 for a car with an admitted motor problem. If $3000 is within your price range, there are nicer MKIII's to be had for the same money.
Using $250 piece of electronics which performs a questionable action to replace one $85 pump that has been proven to work time and time again = stupid
Next.
As this one is as well.
And since your last wall of shame thread didn't seem to get the point across, I'll try again:
Yes, this forum exists to help. But it has standards.
You will find more information about your car here than pretty much anywhere else. You'll also find more people around...
My son has a prince albert, he'll likely post his if he notices this thread...
It's not against the rules now that I've added a NSFW to the thread. It's not anything *I* want to see, but the girls (and Kyle) might. :icon_razz

The primary problem with the stock intercooler is it's lack of mass. It heat saturates in very short order. The more mass an IC has, the more heat it can soak up.
In real world driving, or on a road course, you need that mass to suck up heat during your brief moments of acceleration, then...
Remove the radiator cap and see if there is any coolant in the radiator...
While you can use an online forum as a resource to fill gaps in your knowlege, you can't use it as a replacement for common sense and a basic understanding of what you are doing. If you truly believe that looking in the...
I've found (and this is purely anecdotal, not statistical), that stock turbos tend to last longer at higher boost levels if the IC & BOV have been upgraded.
I would surmise that the same is true for a 60-1 upgrade, where some durability has been given up for peak performance.
If you allow no margin for error, you can push pretty far. But if one thing goes wrong, one component isn't working at 100%, you're toast and you are going to wind up with an oil pan full of shiny engine parts...
Uh, no, he's not and it is not.
In the automotive industry, a t-top has a center bar that connects the windshield to the aft part of the roof. A targa is open air.
