Am I missing a bracket to? I thought screws would just thread through the back sides of the console and into the bracket on the back of the ECU. Does anyone have a picture of the missing bracket?
Yeah, I might as well start fresh. I have to paint a couple more panels anyways so I can just do...
Yeah, that's true. However, I'm not sure what will be easier at this point; prepping and painting or cutting. Cutting seems pretty simple right now. If it doesn't work out I can always grab a another center console and repaint.
Is the only difference between the older style consoles and the newer ones the depth of the compartment, or do the newer ones compensate by being taller? If not, I'll just cut the bottom off the compartment out and silicon it in higher up and carpet over it.
Doh! I meant SRS ECU. LOL
That sucks tho. I never heard there were different center consoles. That freakin sucks. All that prepping and painting for nothing. Damnit!!!
Oh well; an easy enough fix. I'll have to place an add in the wanted section.
I can't seem to figure how the center console fits over the ECU for the ABS. I bought a console off of a memeber years ago and now I can't get it to fit. It appears it would install just fine without the ECU there and just its brackets. The bottom of the console is too shallow to fit around the...
Am I the only one who notices that the exhaust in questions isn't a full RSR system, but just a mandrel-bend 3" pipe with an RSR GT2 muffler welded to the end?
I'm fairly certain the RSR GTII catback system has several separate peices held together by springs with a resonator before the...
That is not entirely true. Yes, they re-wind the alternator with a longer coil which produces more power, but the physical size of the housing will limit the amount of extra wire they can add. Smaller housing = smaller coil = reduced power output in comparisson to a larger housing. I've been...
I'm guessing the 130amp alt was the ones being sold on ebay. I have the same one. There is no way in hell it puts out the claimed 130amps since it is 1/3 smaller than the oem alt. I would guess it would generate anywhere from 80-100amps depending on how it was wound. Still, a freshly rebuilt alt...
Well the problem is that I don't have the rest of my exhaust finished. Just ddp and a test pipe. I don't want to just leave it dangling there since that will be a good bit of leverage on the turbo and manifold.
I really would like to figure where the factory bracket bolts up to. I originally...
When I snapped the bracket I had it bolted to the block and the one bolt on the bellhousing. There was still that 1/2" gap on the last bellhousing bolt. I attempted to draw it closer by screwing in the lower bracket bolt farther and the thing just snapped.
I originally tried this as a quick fix and ended up snapping the first bracket (I had a freakin heart-attack when I heard the bang thinking that I cracked the bellhousing; or worse, the block!). I guess it's not a biggie having a few lock-washers in there to keep it tight. With the BIC tranny...
Thanks for the pics GrimJack, but I actually need the view of the lower bolts. The upper part or the bracket bolts to the block perfectly, and even the upper bolt on the bellhousing bolts up just fine. However, the bottom bolt on the bracket rests over 1/2" off of the bellhousing. If I bolt the...
I agree, the driver side wing bracket is different on the driver side from the w58 and r154 (I've tried them both): but the passenger sides are apparently identical. Yet I'm still having the issue of bolting it up to the bellhousing. I initially tried tightening it (not smart) while in the bell...
I'm looking for 2 pics.
1) The passenger side tranny wing bracket mounted. When I attached mine to the block, there is a 1/2" gap from the bracket to the bell housing. What am I missing?
2) The downpipe clamp bracket. The little "Y" looking plate that bolts somewhere near the bellhousing...
Seriously. Precut hoses aren't necessarily a good thing since they don't allow you to reroute anything to your custom needs. I bought a Vibrant silicone hose set from SS a couple months ago for around $45 and it works great...
